Visa for Australia

Australian visa's are numerous and diverse depending on what your particular category falls into.

If you wish to travel and visit Australia, unless you are a New Zealander, you will need one of the many categories of visa's to do so.

Obtaining a visa for entry into Australia is granted following a rigorously reviewed assessment according to the particular visa type.

Student Visa

This visa is required if your course of study is for longer than 3 months.

Your passport country and courses of study will determine the assessment level by which the visa may be granted. Primarily your main course of study will have much weight in this regard even if you are studying a package of courses.


Travel Visa

Generally this is a short term, visiting visa, however one can apply for it's popular sub-variant the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) which allows up to 12 months stay in Australia.

The ETA is facilitated very quickly on-line and does not require a visit to any office, or require any paper visa transaction as your visa will already be linked to your passport in readiness for when you travel.


Skilled Migration Visa

Australia has a strict quota system on immigration of which this visa would be required. A rigorous criteria is assessed in who would be allowed into Australia to work and live and a considerable list detailing ones advantages to the Australian economy would be needed. Employers ideally would sponsor these workers as an equivalent not available from the local workforce.


Working Holiday Visa

Australia has reciprocal Visa programs for working holiday with many countries. This allows an extended holiday supplemented by short-term employment.


Business Visa

This is a temporary Visa of up to four years intended for business owners whom wish to initiate or further commercial enterprises within Australia. This can result in permanent residence status.


Special Entry Visa

This is a varied and extraordinarily wide ranging Visa that can cover permanent visa status for certain internationally recognized individuals, cultural visitors and tours, domestic workers for certain government staff etc. It's sub-classes are extensive and are not uniformly or readily characterized.

The charges for an Australian Visa vary considerably and are dependent on which detail may apply to each case. Student Visa's for example if sponsored by Commonwealth approved programs can be free.
